Today we will be reviewing and installing the boat buckle G2 retractable ratcheting gunwale tie down straps. Part number IMF14221. Press the release button, release it, lift it up to lock it in place. When you're ready to get your boat strapped on, press the release button, bring up the strap hooking it over the top of the gunwale, lift up again to lock that release, and ratchet it down. Now you're ready to hit the road. The boat buckle gunwale tie down straps are going be very easy to use with our simple ratcheting device. You'll see that you'll hold both of these together to release it, we'll press down on the release lever, and it allows it to come out. When we don't have any use, it'll simply roll up into place.

When you want to tie something down, you'll click it and start ratcheting it to tighten it down. It's going to fit your gunwales that are up to 2 inches thick or less. Going over the top rail of the boat and securing it, these will mount permanently to the side of the boat frame using the provided hardware. It's going to have the easy to grip rubber coating that's going to allow you to press it in, release that, and to grip it to tighten it up. You can see with the extra ridges that they've put into the rubber housing here, it's going to allow it for an easier grip and to hold on to it. It will have a stainless steel spring on the inside.

It's going to have a sturdy steel housing that's going to stand up against the elements and help prevent any kind of rust and corrosion. It's going to have a sturdy plastic housing on the outside in case it gets knocked around by the rocks or whatever when you're pulling into a boat dock. They have the vinyl coating over the top of the hooks to protect the boat's painted surface. These are going to have a 2500 lbs max breaking strength and a safe operating load of up to 833 lbs. Now, the strap is going to be 2 inches wide by 38 inches long. It's going to have the seat belt style polyester strap with the double stitch webbing to make it extra durable.

Release it, and watch it retract right in. Now let's go ahead and see how it installs. Now we'll go ahead and locate on our frame where we're going to drill our hole. Always be careful of any kind of lines, whether that be brake lines, power cables, or anything else that's running through the frame channel. It would be best to go up a little bit, that way you make sure that you go over the top and pass by all those wires. Most of the time most your wires will rest on the bottom of your frame chassis. Now with our provided hardware, flat washer, and lock washer, we're going to place those on the inside.

Place it through the frame, and place your nut on the other side. Now we'll go ahead and secure it down in place. Now with it tightened down, we'll go ahead and pull up our strap and hook it around our gunwale. Press the release button, bring it up, and hook it over the side of the gunwale. Then, simply ratchet it down. Now we'll go ahead and repeat the same process on the other side. That will do it for our review and installation of the boat buckle G2 retractable ratcheting gunwale tie down straps. Part number IMF14221.
